I've put on actual going-out pants

Between sick days and snow days this is the first day I've put on actual going-out pants in 2 weeks! It's kinda cool to have pockets again.
I have largely been doing this:

Except for the coughing, it's honestly been a nice break. I read new books by beloved authors and enjoyed the heck out of all of them: Curtis C. Chen's True Blue Kangaroo (sarcastic spies in space romp), Sharon Shinn's Alibi (near-future mystery romance, with teleportation). and Sarah Reese Brennan's Long Live Evil (what happens when you go into your favorite book and end up as a villain). These were all great and if you like these categories you should go read them!
Finally, if you live anywhere around the Portland metro area, I've got 2 upcoming events to tell you about.
1. Sara Ryan is gonna be talking at A Children's Place Bookstore this Sunday about their new middle grade book, Mountain Upside Down. Sara is a great writer and I'm really looking forward to their new book!
2. I'm gonna be at the inaugural Gorge Book Festival in beautiful Hood River March 6-9. There's a great author lineup, and I'll be on two panels with the excellent cozy mystery writers Emmeline Duncan and Tamara Berry.
That is all for now! I have to sign off to watch more Sense & Sensibility. (I'm afraid Willoughby is going to continue to be a poophead.)
