a comic for september
I never really stopped thinking of fall as the start of the year.

with some things I did in August

I never really stopped thinking of fall as the start of the year. Oh, January is also a good time to get back to work on a project (I mean, what ELSE are you going to do with January), but September is really where it's at.
So both kids have started new schools (middle school and high school, WHUT). The middle school is an arts magnet (amazing!) and a bit of a commute, but in a stroke of luck there's a city bus that goes straight there. And there was a co-working space nearby the school with a back-to-school special, and so HERE I AM, from 9-4, working. And honestly I am getting a shocking amount done, which I attribute largely to not being able to wander off when I get stuck and do things like "laundry" and "bills." Who invented laundry and bills? I ask you.
For those of you in the Portland metro, I'll be in conversation with Emmeline Duncan and Ellie Alexander at Cedar Hills Powell's on September 18! And by "in conversation" I mean "doing another interactive mystery." :D We had an amazing time last year. And don't worry, I promise it is a participation-OPTIONAL sort of thing. You don't have to be my 11yo, who volunteered last year to dramatically get bumped off--again and again and again. (Never has a murder victim died so many times.)
Hope you are also getting a September boost to your projects! I'll tell you more about mine once I get a little farther, so I don't scare them away.
