NOW I'm onto a new project, which is ... trying to use up my millions of small canvases.

The best thing about the plum tree was that I got so many chances to connect with people! We live in a wonky spot so we have to work a little harder to meet and know the folks around us. But we have great neighbors, both on our block and in our larger neighborhood. I'm grateful for that.

I drew both the plum tree comic and these cat doodles back a couple weeks ago during that forest aerial silks camp I told you about last time. NOW I'm onto a new project, which is ... trying to use up my millions of small canvases. (I started counting and there were at least 80, and then I stopped counting.)

These 4" birch panels are new to me but I really like them for painting! I also tried something I haven't done in awhile, which is aiming at a more realistic cat instead of a cartoony cat. (But you know, still with loose brushstrokes, etc. There are artists I admire who can do really teensy tiny details but I fully admit I would lose interest by piece of fur number #5.)

The small canvases will eventually be destined for the big local holiday art sale, but I plan to put them on the November online sale as well so you all can have first crack at them!

PS I finally started reading The Appeal by Janice Hallett (which a couple of you suggested) and I'm loving it so far. (It's largely told in the emails of a local theatre troupe.) Open to more unusual format/structure mystery recs!!
