I am so glad I was able to take July completely off and recharge. One of the weeks was spent at the southern Oregon coast, which was absolutely gorgeous.
The 12yo and I were helping my sister Amy and her friend film a really cool art/costume/dance movie they've been making. (I can't share pics, but trust me, it looks awesome!)
I also prepped for the Multnomah Days art fair! I now have some new card designs. I also have been painting vases, which is always fun. It reminds me of the couple times I got a gig painting perfume bottles at the local Nordstrom's. See, in face painting you need to go as fast as possible, or your line of small creatures will revolt. But if you're a glass painter at a fancy shop, you need to slow waaaaaaay down because the physical act of painting is what is really the entertainment. I always found it very hard to get out of the face painting mindset.
The 12 yo and I worked a puzzle. Then we decided it didn't have enough cats. (Dear reader, it had NO cats.) So we added some.
I am now back into deadlines for a bit. But....I should have a new story coming out in September, if all goes well! And I am also hoping to work on some new art over the next few months, and have another online art sale in November.
School starts this week for us! If you have back-to-school things, I hope they are going well, and if you don't have back-to-school things, I totally grant you permission to go buy yourself a shiny new school supply. Especially if you go back in time and get this Trapper Keeper. :D
